Dr. Sherry Simsuangco
PT, DPT, CEEAA, CCI

Dr. Sherry is the CEO of Optimum Care Therapy. She graduated with a Doctorate Degree in Physical Therapy from Western University Pomona, California. Dr. Sherry has a specialty in Exercise Expert for the Aging Adults (CEEAA), from the American Physical Therapy Association. She has been practicing as a Physical Therapist since 2003. She has extensive experience working with Outpatient Orthopedics, Industrial Medicine, and Geriatrics. She also completed a year long-manual orthopedic course by Michael Miller, DPT, OCS.

She is a Runner (Marathoner) and a fitness enthusiast. In her spare time, Dr. Sherry enjoys spending time with her 2 kids, Matthew and Lauren and loves to travel.

Noriel R. Simsuangco,
PTA, CCI

Noriel “Coach Nori” is a Physical Therapist Assistant and the Co-owner of Optimum Care Therapy. He has more than 17 years of combined experience with orthopedics, sports injury, sports performance, and rehabilitation. He graduated from Cerritos College with a degree in Physical Therapy Assistant and passed his State Bord licensure in 2006. He completed his undergraduate in Concordia University St. Paul with a B.A. in Exercise Science. He is a Credentialed Clinical Instructor by APTA (American Physical Therapy Association) mentoring entry-level PTA interns since 2008. He is an Aquatic Rehab Certified and Advanced Graston Technique Certified practitioner.

He is also a certified USA Triathlon coach that works with Beginner and Top-age group triathletes. He is an active long-course triathlete and an Ironman World Championship qualifier/finisher for both the 70.3 distance and Ironman 140.6 distance in Kona, Hawaii. He is the founder and head coach of Optimum Multisport. Noriel is very active in the triathlon community and serves as one of the officers for the Fil-Am Tri (Filipino-American Triathlon Club).

Dr. Senkosal Uy-DC,
Sports Chiropractor

Dr. Uy is Chiropractic Sports Physician at Optimum Caret Therapy. He graduated from the Southern California University of Health Science, with a Doctor of Chiropractic with Honors in 2011. He completed his certification from the American Chiropractic Board of Sports Physicians and graduated from, Southern California University of Health Sciences in 2013. He completed his undergraduate from the University of California with a B.S. in Biology in 2005. Dr. Uy specializes in the treatment and prevention of neuro-muscular disorders of the human body. His approach to health includes treatment through various techniques such as Chiropractic spinal adjustments, therapeutic exercise, manual soft tissue work, and more to help keep you active and out of pain. Dr. Uy’s wellness and sports rehabilitation focus not only treats your current pain symptoms but also helps correct poor body mechanics, and posture, prevents injury, and gets you to your peak performance. The primary focus is treating the root cause of your complaint and not just your immediate symptoms. He has worked with patients from all walks of life, including professional/high-level athletes, weekend warriors, office workers, stay-at-home parents, Law Enforcement / First Responders, and more.

Ernesto Martinez,
Licensed Certified Massage Therapist (CAMTC)

Ernie Martinez has been working in the field of Physical Therapy as a PT Aide and Rehab Tech for the past 15 years, working in various settings: Outpatient, Inpatient, Sub Acute Rehab. He grew up in the City of Downey playing competitive baseball from high school to adult years. He is a huge music enthusiast. He plays various instruments and enjoys composing, writing music and has performed locally with his band. He enjoys live concerts and is a very dedicated family man.

Rachita Shah,
PTA

Rachita Shah is a Physical Therapy Assistant at Optimum Care Therapy since 2017. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from Sikkim Manipal University, India in 2009. She challenged the PTA board exam and passed in 2018. She is a Certified IASTM (Instrument Assisted Soft Mobilization Tool) She is a mother and wife who loves to cook, travel, and goes for a long drive with her family. Rachita speaks Hindi and Gujarati.

Ekleen Kaur,
PT, MPT

Ekleen’s journey to become a physical therapist began when she graduated in Physical therapy from Sardar Bhagwan Singh Postgraduate Institute, Dehradun, India. From 2006-2010, she worked as a physical therapist with various settings from geriatric, adult day and rehab centers and hospitals. She did research in “Comparison of Abdominal Strength and Obesity in middle aged Females”. She was a student athlete and was the sports captain and achieved several accolades as a competitive runner and earned medals, cash prizes, trophies. She did a six month internship at St. Stephen Hospital, Delhi, India and was exposed to Orthopedic, Medical Surgery, Pediatrics, NICU and ICU. She pursued her Masters in physical therapy (MPT) from a well known college Banarasi Das Chandiwala Institute for Physiotherapy affiliated to IP university, New Delhi, India. She was awarded academic excellence during her first year and performed duties in various post care surgeries of hip, knee and attended College Athletic Meets, State Olympics in 2011, Interstate Championship 2012. She continued her research on “Comparison of Foot Posture in various Stages of Menstrual Cycle”.

After college she got married and moved to US and enrolled herself in an Associated degree of Kinesiology from Ohlone college, Fremont, California where she received her personal trainer certification with National academy of sports medicine (NASM). She passed her PT State Board licensure exam and began her career as a physical therapist in California in 2017. Over the years, she has worked in a variety of settings, from hospitals, clinics, rehabilitation centers and sports medicine facilities. In each role, she has brought her expertise and passion to bear, helping countless patients recover from injuries, manage chronic conditions, and improve their overall quality of life. Overall, her dedication, expertise, and caring approach have made her a true asset to the field of physical therapy.

Apart from her professional life, she is mom of two kids Rubani and Teghvir who loves to have an active lifestyle, enjoying hiking along with cooking, travelling and spending time with her family.

Elaine Arce,
PTA

Elaine B.S. Kinesiology is a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant at Optimum Care Therapy. She received her Bachelor degree at California State University, Fullerton in 2014 and graduated from the PTA Program at Cerritos College in 2020. Elaine has worked in the Physical Therapy field for over 10 years with a background in outpatient orthopedics and home health PT. She is an APTA Credentialed Clinical Instructor who provides mentorship and clinical education experience for PTA students of all levels. During her down time, Elaine likes to spend quality time with her husband and son, travel, go to concerts and attend sporting events for the LA Kings and LA Galaxy.

Annette Arredondo, OT

Annette graduated from California State University of Dominguez Hills in Carson, CA with a Bachelor’s degree in Health Science and Occupational Therapy. She graduated with an honors title in the OT department. Annette has 18 years of practice experience ranging from community integration, home health, acute, subacute and adult health care settings. Credentialed in Physical Agent Modalities (CPAM) by PAMPCA Credentialing Agency. Annette has a significant interest in the rehabilitation of the upper extremity.
Annette’s special interests include wellness and healthy lifestyle. Appreciates movement as an integral part of health. Hobbies include dance, hand crafts, journaling and reading.

Dr. Brandon Green, PT, DPT

Brandon is a Physical Therapist who received his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from California State University Monterey Bay where he also pursued his love for sports by playing collegiate soccer. After completing his undergraduate degree, he earned his certification in personal training to help promote health and wellness through exercise. He attended the University of St. Augustine for Health and Sciences where he earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy with the highest honors. Brandon enjoys spending time with his wife and dog exploring local hiking trails, skiing, and playing soccer. Brandon is passionate about helping his patients optimize their movement and achieve their goals.

Viveca Gazzoni, PTA

Viveca is a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) with over 15 years of experience working with the geriatric population to help them live healthier lives and become stronger through exercises, manual therapy, and patient education. Originally from Argentina, she developed an interest in rehabilitation through exercise while taking and teaching ballet classes. After moving to the USA with her family, Viveca applied to the Physical Therapist Assistant program at Cerritos College, where she graduated in 2005. She has since developed a deep knowledge of the Maitland mobilization technique through her practice with manual therapy, which she uses to help restore and maintain function.

As a passionate PTA, Viveca enjoys helping patients recover and maintain their quality of life from all kinds of chronic illnesses, conditions, and injuries sustained through accidents. In addition to being fluent in Spanish, she is also a dedicated mother of three children, as well as several cats and dogs. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, watching movies, camping, and hiking. She is also an advocate for animal welfare and frequently supports local rescue agencies in her community.

Erica Pueblos Andersen, OTR/L

Erica graduated from Stanbridge University with a Master of Science Degree in Occupational Therapy. Nationally board-certified and state-certified occupational therapist since early 2019. Erica previously graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Human Development. She has experience working in a community-based non-profit clinic, private outpatient practices, skilled nursing facilities, and early intervention. Erica has completed a certification in Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM), and is in the process of completing additional certifications – Pregnancy & Postpartum Corrective Exercise Specialist and Fall Prevention Specialist. Additionally, Erica is a full-time faculty member and lab instructor for the Occupational Therapy Assistant program at CBD College.

Erica is a fitness enthusiast and has competed as a bikini bodybuilder. She has also been a Special Olympics Coach for Team Lakewood for over 10 years, having coached softball, basketball, bocce ball, and soccer. She enjoys going to the gym with her husband during her spare time, traveling, and trying new restaurants.
